Your domain name (i.e. Jane or JoeSmith.com) is the name that identifies your website.  You'll often see it proceeded by "www.", "http://", or both.  And, just so you know...the terms "domain name", "URL", or "website address" are many times used interchangeably.  

 

Don't underestimate the value of a good domain name. In order to convey a professional image to your clients and potential customers you need to have your own domain name for your email address and your website.
