If random people give you their two cents, remember that you don’t have to take their word at face value. Do a bit of a background check before taking them too seriously. A swift Facebook stalking session will do.
One thing you’ll realize about the first three points, including this one, is the importance of aggregating the people who liked your band live so that you can convert them to active members of your fan base.
With overwhelmingly positive results, we’re happy to share a few select testimonials of Soundfly’s Beginner Harmonic Theory course directly from our students.

House concerts are often built around local musical and friend communities, so there tends to be a healthier audience circuit than at most venues. Whether you’re passing through or playing in your own town, you might not have to hustle as hard to gain access to these communities and share your music with them. Knowing whether anyone is going to show up or not is always a worry for unestablished touring bands playing regular venues, but house shows usually offer small yet reliable crowds.
This test that you can perform at home is important for two reasons. Firstly, it demonstrates how, when we talk about phase, we’re describing the relative relationship between the peaks and troughs of different waveforms and how they affect the cumulative volume. Secondly, the phase flip demonstrated above is one of the most common ways an (aspiring) audio engineer will relate to phase. Because simply inverting the phase of a signal can make so much of a difference to how it interacts with other signals, this functionality is built into a lot of audio equipment and is a cornerstone of good recording and mixing practice.
Logic has a ton of great built-in MIDI sounds. Your first option is to select the sound of the keyboard you’d like to record. In the top left corner, there’s a box with a file folder inside. Click on that to open the menu. From there you can turn your MIDI sound into almost anything by searching through the available sounds: everything from synths to classic, electric, and grand pianos, and percussion sounds.
Search the geo-tag for the venues you played at, as well as, the hashtag for your band’s name. Once you’ve found all the photos and videos that people have taken from your show, follow those people and thank them with a tweet, comment or DM for coming out and ask them to follow you back so they can keep up with your new music and return visits.
The simple, digital BOSS DD-7 is small, durable and has the ability to tap delay time very accurately. Another unique pedal, which has its own sound entirely, is the VOX Delay Lab, which offers a pitch shifting delay mode to really turn your signal upside down! It will add one octave up to the note you are playing as the first echo you hear. The second echo you hear is an octave up from that, and so on… It’s such a dreamy swarm of tones, you should give it a try at your local guitar store sometime! As much as I love this pedal, it’s actually enormous, and no longer fits on my board, so for something a bit more compact you can try the BOSS PS-3.
An example of this might be using Sibelius to augment students’ learning and practice within a Western section of their curriculum, but introducing digital worksheets, sound libraries, and notational software to learn about Indonesian gamelan composition. Students may discuss what is gained and lost in comparative studies, what shadows exist in traditional software related to microtonal and quartertonal notation, how sound libraries can skew our perceptions of orchestral roles, etc.

Yet the question of commerce is also a factor, and Wu-Tang’s refusal to sell more than a single copy of the album bears a much stronger resemblance to the practices of creative commissioning and artistic production of the Renaissance. No distribution.

So starting with my big vision (Garner, I’m coming for you!), I know I’m going to have to work on my stride playing and block chords a bit. That’s still pretty vague though, so I think I’ll start by trying to figure out the left hand part of “Stompin’ at the Savoy.” Suddenly, that’s totally something I can figure out in a few sessions and I’ll be a little bit closer to my overall goal.
